Trini Lam, the study's first author, was raised in a multilingual, multicultural family that uses more than four languages, including Cantonese, Mandarin, Indonesian, English, and other dialects. She speaks Cantonese as her home language, while her parents’ is Indonesian. She has over 16 years of teaching experience in Hong Kong and extensive training in linguistics, cultural studies, educational psychology, and inclusive education. She is passionate about supporting students with diverse backgrounds and disabilities.
