Lesley is a certified practicing Speech Pathologist, and Senior Speech Pathologist at Hear My Voice Speech Pathology based in in Perth, WA. Having graduated in the UK with a Masters in speech Pathology in 2008, and emigrating to Australia in 2010, Lesley has been working in the disability sector providing speech pathology services to individuals with complex communication needs for over 16 years. Lesley has extensive experience in the assessment and implementation of low and high tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to meet the growing and changing needs of AAC users throughout their life. She has particular interest working in early childhood and with individuals with physical disability. In 2015 Lesley was recognised with an excellence award for her contribution to the field by Early Childhood Intervention Australia, with reference to applied skills and knowledge in the area of AAC. Lesley is trained and has experience in a wide range of AAC tools including PODD, eye-gaze technology, switching, various communication devices and apps. She is passionate about integrating communication alongside literacy and leisure activities such as gaming for AAC users. Lesley loves AAC and is committed to providing evidence-based services and working together to give people with complex communication needs a voice, because everyone has the right to communicate.
